With nine yearsâ experience with building consents and working as part of a specialist reclad team, Josh delivers a high standard or work in his new role as a building surveyor. His experience in the a building regulatory environment at Auckland Council has seen Joshua provide advice on technical and procedural issues associated with weathertight remediation design, passive fire protection design, fire rated wall system designs, and exterior surface finishes for external wall cladding systems. Josh has gained sound knowledge of the NZ Building Act and NZ Building Code through his previous roles, gaining specialist knowledge of fundamental weathertightness design principles. He understands risk analysis and works toward improving existing conditions, generating ideas, and implementing solutions.
Having developed a unique online database of 3D construction animations to assist past colleagues he has shown himself to be a go-getter in seeking ways of improving work. As an industry focused individual, Josh has represented the Auckland Council on the BRANZ Medium Rise Weathertightness Guidance Group, which is working toward establishing a compliance path for weathertightness design and construction of medium rise buildings.
