Over the past twelve years, Ivan has been responsible for remediating, re-cladding and structurally upgrading a number of significant commercial, residential and school buildings. This includes five large, multi-unit apartment buildings across Auckland, comprising a total of 150 apartments.

Ivan thrives on finding relevant, economic, compliant and achievable solutions to the challenges of remediation work – which typically include defects associated with passive fire, defective construction and structural elements.

After a lifetime in construction, Ivan has gained invaluable knowledge and experience across all facets of the industry. His desire to learn and evolve saw him progress from carpenter to multi-skilled building control officer operating in a regulatory role for a local Territorial Authority. He then set up his own building consultancy, providing regulatory, construction and technical assistance, before joining Prendos in 2011 and becoming a Registered Building Surveyor in 2015.

Ivan finds it highly satisfying to be part of a team that solves the complex problems to deliver a building that is a legacy to good design.
